My Story
“Bishup Bicardi,” is a rapper, songwriter, performing artist based in Boston, Massachusetts. Bishup grew up in a large family where he was the youngest of five children. The schooling process was a difficult one for him since he was never interested in the standardized procedure of education. He always knew that he was meant to do something different from the average with his life. He started by playing sports and attended all high school social events. If bishup’s classmates were to describe him at that time, they would have said he was a jokester, the class clown. His personality was always larger than life and entertaining, whether it be in a classroom or on a stage. Bishup's first experience with music was at the age of eight when his older brother brought home the Tupac Shakur cassette called “The 7 Day Theory.” After spending an entire month listening to it, Bishup grew a strong love for the art of hip hop. The way the music made him feel was like therapy to the soul, it put him in another state of mind. Finally he knew just how to channel his energy and enthusiasm.
Bishup started writing rhymes as a way to get away from his daily life stresses. Writing was his way of expressing his feelings, letting loose, and giving the audience a piece of his mind. In November of 2007, Bicardi underwent a period of intense depression when he was a victim of voodoo combined with his beloved mother suffering a severe stroke. Bicardi used the life lessons that he learned from this tragedy as motivation to pursue his career professionally.
Not only does Bishup write for himself, but also as a way of communicating with his fans that have gone through or are currently going through similar life frustrations. Bicardi has the unique ability to be able to grasp his audience with his strong voice, presence and aggressive delivery on tracks. He is a man on a mission and has often said “a man with a dream and no plan is a man with a wish.”
Fast forward to April 2012 when Bicardi released his first national single "Ring On You" Featuring G-Unit crooner Governor. Amassing nearly 100k views his next release "Bicardi Up" peaked at #5 on the National Airplay Independent 50 Charts, and is still climbing at #122 on the National Airplay Top 200 Charts.
